<br />
Here is my progress on <a href="http://plumstreetsamplers.typepad.com/plum_street_samplers/">Paulette's</a> Mary Sampler II.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p4WyuqYMg5Q/UowTNR9bvnI/AAAAAAAAEqg/lTCklmysZLc/s1600/Mary;s+Sampler+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p4WyuqYMg5Q/UowTNR9bvnI/AAAAAAAAEqg/lTCklmysZLc/s320/Mary;s+Sampler+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Stitched on 28ct Navy Blue Meran using DMC threads. This SAL is coming to an end with the ninth part coming out next Sunday. I have to stitch fast to catch up ha ha!<br />
<br />
Next is the HAL Vert D'eau hosted by <a href="http://christinehardanger.over-blog.com/">Christine</a>. Here is Christine's verison, gorgeous isn't it?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vdjYOzM6w7A/UowYpvWritI/AAAAAAAAEq4/C6KJZY3FK7I/s1600/Hal+Vert+D'eau.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vdjYOzM6w7A/UowYpvWritI/AAAAAAAAEq4/C6KJZY3FK7I/s320/Hal+Vert+D'eau.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I chose to stitch this design on lilac 28ct Meran.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0laAwsTlMzk/UowWYUqiz7I/AAAAAAAAEqs/_nDRnAUJ_D4/s1600/Hal+Vert+D'eau.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0laAwsTlMzk/UowWYUqiz7I/AAAAAAAAEqs/_nDRnAUJ_D4/s320/Hal+Vert+D'eau.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Sorry, the picture doesn't show the true color of the fabric, it is actually a beautiful soft lilac color. If you visit Christine's blog, you can see the gorgeous pouches finished by some of the participants. Sigh...I am behind again!<br />
<br />
Work on Sara's SAL Sorpresa 3 is slow but steady. We are already at part 8 of this SAL and the winter scenery is coming along so beautifully.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0BLbfNRZEsk/UowcP0aqA4I/AAAAAAAAErY/XWsY5O0dosQ/s1600/Sara's+SAL+3+progress+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0BLbfNRZEsk/UowcP0aqA4I/AAAAAAAAErY/XWsY5O0dosQ/s320/Sara's+SAL+3+progress+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
More evergreens added..<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
A chair lift. I had a hard time laying the cable ha ha! It still looks wobbly?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bzU2TuWmFEM/UowcP96XcPI/AAAAAAAAErc/Fwa-dMaQi9U/s1600/Sara's+SAL+3+progress+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bzU2TuWmFEM/UowcP96XcPI/AAAAAAAAErc/Fwa-dMaQi9U/s320/Sara's+SAL+3+progress+3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I am also working steadily on Dorothy. The flowers band is huge but the flowers are so gorgeous.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T5Xmj3AX_VM/UowaN3bVVII/AAAAAAAAErA/PaAdHiV5Ykw/s1600/Dorothy's+progress+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T5Xmj3AX_VM/UowaN3bVVII/AAAAAAAAErA/PaAdHiV5Ykw/s320/Dorothy's+progress+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />

<br />
I join another SAL hosted by <a href="http://lesmarottesdenath.free.fr/">Nathalie</a> - the SAL La Pensee Positive. Found a piece of white linen band in my stash wide enough to stitch this beautiful design. Here is my progress, we are at Part two of the SAL.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-s5SzNfmMtU8/Ul3WNJqu5kI/AAAAAAAAD30/rvrpnJ1DH98/s1600/The+Way+to+Happiness+SAL+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-s5SzNfmMtU8/Ul3WNJqu5kI/AAAAAAAAD30/rvrpnJ1DH98/s320/The+Way+to+Happiness+SAL+3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The band is 6 inches wide and I am using DMC instead of Nina's threads. This will be finished as a bellpull. Please visit Nathalie's blog to see this beautiful design, she has the SAL in several languages.<br />
<br />
There is another beautiful SAL hosted by <a href="http://plumstreetsamplers.typepad.com/plum_street_samplers/">Paulette</a> - Mary's Sampler. She has two versions on her blog. I am gathering my fabric n threads and hope to start soon! So many SALs in blogland ha ha!<br />
<br />
I promised an update on Dorothy in my last post, here she is! I finished the Bargello band, love it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Fe4nR7Rv5Zc/Ul3af-5u6FI/AAAAAAAAD4A/8_x2qNzLphU/s1600/dorothy+progress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Fe4nR7Rv5Zc/Ul3af-5u6FI/AAAAAAAAD4A/8_x2qNzLphU/s320/dorothy+progress.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
A close up on the Bargello Band, beautiful isn't it?<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I am now on the Flowers Band, which is what attracted me most to this sampler. The flowers are gorgeous, I will enjoy stitching them very much!<br />
<br />
Too many projects ongoing, I did not work on Sara's Summer. Hope to work on her after I finish the current SAL - Sorpresa 3.<br />
<br />
I started on LHN's Little Sheep Virtue Series. Stitched it on a piece of unknown 30ct linen using DMC threads. It's too big, will stitch the others on 36 or 40 count linen.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xON0uGSEdWY/Ul3chRVD3pI/AAAAAAAAD4c/HvPwHLNfkaA/s1600/Patience+in+progress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xON0uGSEdWY/Ul3chRVD3pI/AAAAAAAAD4c/HvPwHLNfkaA/s320/Patience+in+progress.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I am very attracted to whiteworks after seeing <a href="http://joody123.blogspot.com/">Judy's </a>gorgeous works. Currently trying my hands on Italian embroidery the Ruskin Lace/Reticello. Here is my progress on a piece of 28ct green linen. Very raw/uneven right? I am asking my friend to get books on Reticello for me, hopefully my embroidery will impove ha ha!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cBelzbgHHL8/Ul3cpibujAI/AAAAAAAAD4k/tiNHt2oUw7o/s1600/ruskin+lace.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cBelzbgHHL8/Ul3cpibujAI/AAAAAAAAD4k/tiNHt2oUw7o/s320/ruskin+lace.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />

These alphabets were stitched on Aida years ago from a Kit I bought - The Rose Alphabets by Donna Vermillion. I just love these alphabets but not sure what to do with them ha ha! What was my plan years ago ???<br />
<br />

<br />
These days I stitch exclusively on linens and evenweaves, all Aida cloths were given away to friends.<br />
<br />
<br />
An update on Sara's SAL Sorpresa 3. We were given 2 parts to stitch during the summer holidays, here are my progress... I really love this SAL, love how the scenery unfolds itself!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8kGmXYs3k7w/UgrSF_5ueLI/AAAAAAAADns/ZYRIxxoKV-w/s1600/part+4+n+5+progress+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8kGmXYs3k7w/UgrSF_5ueLI/AAAAAAAADns/ZYRIxxoKV-w/s320/part+4+n+5+progress+1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fF_UpinfDqw/UgrSGfZBYoI/AAAAAAAADn0/xI8fC8kk5Qg/s1600/part+4+n+5+progress+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fF_UpinfDqw/UgrSGfZBYoI/AAAAAAAADn0/xI8fC8kk5Qg/s320/part+4+n+5+progress+3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I am still stitching on these 2 parts, lots of evergreens to fill in ha ha!<br />
<br />
<br />
Some small finishes to show - biscornu, scissors fobs and coaster.. This biscornu is a freebie from <a href="http://casaerba.blogspot.com/">Casaerba</a>. I love the needlelace in the centre!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f0DQgmFUZlA/UgrTphjYUyI/AAAAAAAADoM/JqtQRROcil0/s1600/Biscornu+front.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f0DQgmFUZlA/UgrTphjYUyI/AAAAAAAADoM/JqtQRROcil0/s320/Biscornu+front.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Look at the back, isn't it lovely too? I stitched the biscornu on 28ct cream linen, so it is big ha ha! Casaerba stitched her pink biscornu on 38ct Italian linen. Thank you for this beautiful design!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fzKIaJLUKwM/UgrT9tIiMXI/AAAAAAAADoU/YDMOcBV-w7U/s1600/Biscornu+back.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fzKIaJLUKwM/UgrT9tIiMXI/AAAAAAAADoU/YDMOcBV-w7U/s320/Biscornu+back.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
These cube scissors fobs are so cute and tiny. They are fast to stitch too! The design is a freebie by <a href="http://palkolap.blogspot.com/">Palko</a>, thank you. The purple fob is a gift for my friend!<br />

They are knitted by me and my daughter using<br />

various yarns and threads and different needles sizes. I taught my daughter how to knit and she is now happily knitting more owls here. More will be joining the family ha ha!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vS5yzLef_zo/UcjKQDW0IzI/AAAAAAAADIc/BJQkCESa3CA/s1600/owls+by+qi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vS5yzLef_zo/UcjKQDW0IzI/AAAAAAAADIc/BJQkCESa3CA/s320/owls+by+qi.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I took up <a href="http://joody123.blogspot.com/">Judy's</a> Message In a Bottle Challenge. She had a piece of semi finished hardanger work. She throws the challenge into the Internet Ocean, challenging anyone who is willing to finish the design for the centre of the hardanger piece. I filled the centre with Lacy Daisy and picots. You can visit her blog to see her gorgeous whitework embroidery.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y5Iexa5DgxY/UcjNm_O52cI/AAAAAAAADIs/TsAaG7KkS-4/s1600/Ellen.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y5Iexa5DgxY/UcjNm_O52cI/AAAAAAAADIs/TsAaG7KkS-4/s320/Ellen.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>

Abi's HAL - A Confetti of Hardanger has just ended. She will be starting another SAL with specialty stitches. The SAL is exclusively to her group members.<br />
<br />
I have some struggles with the last part of the HAL, the curves of the buttonhole bars did not flow smoothly. After some frustrations, I decided to leave out these bars and just do the dove eyes. Here is my completed doily! Thank you Abi for a beautiful HAL!<br />

<br />
I found <a href="http://lavandaelilla.blogspot.com/">Claudia's</a> blog through Judy, she is doing a gorgeous Embroidery Alphabets SAL. The embroideries are so beautiful, I could not resist and started on my inital E. I have fun doing these embroidery stitches, some are new to me. Please visit her blog to see the other alphabets, the SAL is currently at letter I.<br />

Claudia got me so enthusiastic in embroidery that I have started another project, an embroidery pincushion. Hope to show in my next update.<br />

I am stressed over the over 1 stitches. The crosses on 40ct are very tiny and I am not happy with them! I jump over and start the next band, the eyelets - lots of them ha ha!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gxvG8eYwAZw/UVGUdpP51TI/AAAAAAAACnk/1hea4HRq43g/s1600/DSCF2239.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gxvG8eYwAZw/UVGUdpP51TI/AAAAAAAACnk/1hea4HRq43g/s320/DSCF2239.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Can you see, only a few over 1 words?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hJHvQaDQN7Q/UVGUkOS4wsI/AAAAAAAACns/oN8CTFt1vcg/s1600/DSCF2240.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hJHvQaDQN7Q/UVGUkOS4wsI/AAAAAAAACns/oN8CTFt1vcg/s320/DSCF2240.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I am happy that all the satin stitch alphabets are done, they are a joy to stitch!<br />

<br />
<br />
The other reason for Dorothy's slow progress is because I got distracted by other projects along the way ha ha!<br />
<br />
I am at the final stage in my hardanger SAL. This last part consists of dove's eyes and buttonhole bars. They are all round the doily, between the row of klosters and the buttonholed edge. With multiple projects on going, it may take me a while to complete these!<br />
<br />

Dorothy was put on temporary hold as I started another big project ha ha! I found <a href="http://www.saraguermani.it/">Sara's </a>blog, she is doing a SAL. This current SAL is coming to an end in March and the new one will commence on April 1. Love her designs so I started Summer, a big design 280w x 263h stitches! Here is my new start!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<br />
I plan to rotate my two big projects, Dorothy and Summer, with a lot of smalls in between!<br />
<br />
An update on my Hardanger SAL. I have one more filler to do, the Edelweiss, a beautiful white flower! I enjoy doing Hardanger in between cross stitch projects!<br />

This piece was done on 22ct hardanger fabric many years ago, I don't stitch on Aida anymore.<br />
<br />
<br />
I finished By The Bay Needleart's Autumn SAL. Now, I must find time to finish it into a big pincushion for my box!<br />

<br />
I am stitching for exchange now, will show pictures later. Hope to show Dorothy's progress in my next update!<br />

Have been stitching diligently on Dorothy. She is such a joy to stitch with all the specialty stitches. I conquered my worries over the Queen Stitches and had my row done, hooray!<br />

<br />
Just started on the 1 over 1 verse, the crosses are so tiny on 40 ct. I only have two letters done ha ha! This section is going to be slow moving!<br />
<br />
I had a private exchange with <a href="http://asamplerofstitches.blogspot.com/">Margaret</a> recently. If you are familiar with her blog, you will know that Margaret stitches and sew beautifully! Look at this gorgeous set that Margaret made for me - a drawstring bag, a needlebook and a pincushion, in my favorite colors. I just love the PS designs that she chose for me, the other side of the back is a blackbird.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The needlebook opens up with 3 pockets and a charm, isn't it gorgeous? Margaret also included a chart by Heart In Hand and a piece of fabric.<br />
<br />
Margaret's stitching and finishing are just perfect. Please visit her blog for more beautiful pictures! Thank you, Margaret, for a wonderful exchange!<br />
<br />
This is what I stitched for Margaret. I forgot to take a picture of the goodies I put together for her, please visit her blog to see more. Margaret takes better pictures ha ha!<br />

Now on to the stitching stuff. I started Dorothy Walpole on Boxing Day. I love stitching with silks, they are so soft and smooth. Here is my progress posted on Nicola's Scarlet Letter Year blog on Dec 28.<br />

<a href="http://stitchingbyacornishseashore.blogspot.com/">Nicola</a> is celebrating her birthday in a big way in 2013. She is organising a Scarlet Letter Challenge, to complete one or more samplers by The Scarlet Letter. Please visit <a href="http://scarletletteryear.blogspot.com/">Nicola's Scarlet Letter Year </a>if you are interested to join the Challenge. I have added my name to the long list of stitchers. The Scarlet Letter website offers a wide selection of samplers, some stitchers already have many SL samplers in their stashes! I have yet to decide what I want to stitch for this challenge ha ha!<br />
<br />
Thank you for your visits and comments! Please come back to see my ornies in the next update! I will also show you what I am going to stitch for Nicola's Challenge!<br />

I join The Stitch Specialists(TSS) Group recently. They are currently doing a HAL - A Confetti of Hardanger designed by the Group Owner Abi Gurden. This project is exclusive to TSS members only! Here is my progress, I am stitching on 32ct platinum Belfast using DMC Perle 712. I use Dinky-Dyes Peach Melba for the flower motifs - a very pastel touch of colors!<br />

This post is pictures-heavy!<br />
<br />
To start, here are my 6 Fat Men's progresses. I am down to the last Fat Man, Snow Day. These snowmen are a delight to stitch!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W1nnaBqnkug/T64vPXfg8_I/AAAAAAAABpQ/FuC7DAxjgjk/s1600/Some+finishings,+6+Fat+Men+n+others+017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W1nnaBqnkug/T64vPXfg8_I/AAAAAAAABpQ/FuC7DAxjgjk/s320/Some+finishings,+6+Fat+Men+n+others+017.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
They look great together. I have just one more snowman to stitch!<br />
<br />

This pincushion is very tiny, mounted on a small color palette. It is very convenient for beads, buttons and charms during stitching! That bird was stitched by my friend, Kristine. </div>

Another pincushion but this one is not done by me! It's a gift from Kristine. Thank you, Kristine for this gorgeous 15-sided biscornu! Look at the embroidery, they are so beautifully done! </div>

Both designs are stitched on 32ct Belfast Light Mocha linen using DMC threads.<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lJIXiVyuBOs/T0w6fS5dmTI/AAAAAAAABl8/M9yMhUzNl80/s1600/Minicard%2BSanta%252C%2BScissors%2Band%2BLK%2BInspiration%2BBoxers%2B007.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lJIXiVyuBOs/T0w6fS5dmTI/AAAAAAAABl8/M9yMhUzNl80/s320/Minicard%2BSanta%252C%2BScissors%2Band%2BLK%2BInspiration%2BBoxers%2B007.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5714006336549525810" border="0" /></a><br />One final finish to show, this is actual a wooden napkin ring turned into a pincushion. The motif is by DMC and stitched using DMC thread #115. This pincushion is very tiny, barely 1.5 inches in diameter. I am looking for more tiny designs to stitch for these pincushions. They come in the shapes of rabbit, rooster, elephant and duck.<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5BdVqu-OJF0/T0wlf25rpYI/AAAAAAAABj4/2mM62Fi58Z0/s1600/LK%2Bthe%2B6%2BFat%2BMen%252C%2BGiveaway%252C%2BSanta%2BOrnie%2Band%2BSB%2B004.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5BdVqu-OJF0/T0wlf25rpYI/AAAAAAAABj4/2mM62Fi58Z0/s320/LK%2Bthe%2B6%2BFat%2BMen%252C%2BGiveaway%252C%2BSanta%2BOrnie%2Band%2BSB%2B004.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5713983256469939586" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I am currently working hard on my HAL.
