Finally......

an update! I have been procrastinating for months, just being lazy ha ha!

Now, to show you what I have been stitching in the last couple of months. I finally put the last few stitches to LK's 6 Fat Men. I really enjoyed stitching these snowmen.

A close up of the last snowman!

The size of this project is just right for a cushion. I thought of making it into a cushion cover but the Crescent Colors used are not colorfast! Maybe frame it???

Next, some hardanger stitchings. Here are two doilies!

Design: From Permin
Fabric: 32ct Dusty Rose Belfast Linen
Thread: DMC Perle

The next doily is a round one. It is supposed to be a cake tray doily, about 8.5 inches in diameter.

Design: From German Hardanger magazine
Fabric: 28ct Lilac Meran
Thread: DMC Perle

A close up of the sunflower, the petals are actually cross stitches!

Two other small finishes to show, BBD's Souvenir de France and Dany's Pins! I intend to finish both as pincushions. Souvenir de France is stitched over 1, so it is going to be a tiny pincushion!

Design: BBD's freebie
Fabric: 25ct Comar
Thread: CC Wild Berries

Design: Dany
Fabric: 32ct antique white Belfast
Thread: DMC

This one was pulled out from the wip's basket and finished in the last month!

I had some great mails in the last couple of months.

I received a wonderful RAK from Lillie! I love boxes and I saw this one on Lillie's blog. She so graciously sent me one together with a beautiful felt needlebook! Thank you so much, Lillie, for these gifts!

I have selected and kitted a wonderful BBD design(from Mary Ann Blackburn leaflet) to stitch for this box, just don't know when I will start and finish it ha ha!

Gifts from Doris - Blossom Time by Papillon Creations kitted with fabric and threads and Woodland Walk chart by The Drawn Thread. Thank you, Doris, for these great designs!

I also received a wonderful giveaway package from Robin with lots of beautiful charts and fabrics! Thank you, Robin, for these great gifts!

I have just received the Traveling Pattern - LHN's Summer Splendor- from Lisa in Australia. Watch this space for the drawing if you want to be the next stitcher!

Thank you for visiting my blog and I love to read all your lovely comments! I have some problems with the Follower Gadget, it does not show but you still can follow my blog.

Happy Stitching till the next update!

Ellen

6 Fat Men and Some Finishings

This post is pictures-heavy!

To start, here are my 6 Fat Men's progresses. I am down to the last Fat Man, Snow Day. These snowmen are a delight to stitch!

They look great together. I have just one more snowman to stitch!

A close up of Snow House

I hope you are not tired of snowmen because my ornament for April is another snowman. This is  from the monthly ornaments by LHN.

Design: Frosty Flakes by LHN
Fabric: 32ct Amber Linen
Thread: DMC

When Diana of LHN shows her monthly ornaments for this year, I fell in love with Quaker Birds. This will be my ornament for May. I am ahead of my schedule, ha ha!

Design: Quaker Birds by LHN
Fabric: 32ct Amber Linen
Thread: DMC

Finally, I managed to sit down and did some finishings!
Here is Busy Needle's Needlebook, I added my initial to the back. The pins are gifts from my friend, Joyce.

Next, I finished two scissors fobs, one from LK and the other from SB.

Design: 2001 Fob by SB
Fabric: 32ct Platinum Linen
Thread: DMC

The next two are pincushions!

Remember this in my last post? It's the bonus chart from LK's Inspiration Boxer #B35.

This pincushion is very tiny, mounted on a small color palette. It is very convenient for beads, buttons and charms during stitching! That bird was stitched by my friend, Kristine.

Another pincushion but this one is not done by me! It's a gift from Kristine. Thank you, Kristine for this gorgeous 15-sided biscornu! Look at the embroidery, they are so beautifully done!

Sorry for the poor pictures, I was trying to capture the beautiful embroideries!

Last but not least a cushion cover finished again by my friend, Kristine. She is good at sewing and patchworks. The stitching was completed much earlier.

I received a beautiful PS ornament from Karen for the HoE PS Ornament Exchange.

Karen chose this design from the Snowy Nights Booklet. I love this ornament, thank you Karen for a lovely Exchange!

For this same exchange, I stitched for Becky Kirkbride a tiny Santa from the mini cards series. I forgot to take a picture of the ornament before sending it out.

This picture was taken by Becky.

Thank you for your patience, hope you have enjoyed these pictures. Thank you for visiting my blog and taking time to leave lovely comments, they are greatly appreciated!

Happy stitching until the next update!

Hugs,
Ellen

March's Updates

It's almost the end of March, time for an update. Here is my ornament for March, another one of LHN monthly ornaments.

Design: Snowy Pines by LHN
Fabric: 28ct Raw Linen
Thread: DMC

Notice that cute pincube in the corner of the picture? I won it from Carmen's blog giveaway. Thank you for this gift, Carmen, I love it!

Next, an update on the 6 Fat Men. I had finished "Let It Snow" and started on "Snow House". These snowmen are a delight to stitch, they are quick too!

A closeup of "Let It Snow".

Continuing on my stitching of smalls, here are 3 small finishes for your viewing pleasure. You have to wait to see the finishing ha, ha!

This is Garden Pin Cushion from The first of LK Inspiration Boxers, B33 I Know God.

Design: LK B33 I Know God
Fabric: 32ct Platinum Belfast Linen
Thread: DMC

The next small was inspired by Becky. Her stitching and finishing are gorgeous, visit her blog to see more of her wonderful works.

Not sure about the finishing for this one, may turn it into a needlebook.

Design: LHN Busy Needle
Fabric: 40ct Hand-dyed linen by Nina
Thread: WDW, DMC

The third small is a freebie by The Little Stitcher. It is a pretty and quick stitch. I intend to turn it into a tea pouch for my younger DD, she loves tea!

The fabric is cream, the picture is misleading!!!

Design: Tea Time by The Little Stitcher
Fabric: 28ct Cream Cashel
Thread: DMC

Ok, the only finishing I did in March is to finish off the SB's scissors fob. The cording is finally done and I love it. I did finished an Exchange ornament, will show when it arrives at my partner's home.

That is all for March, hopefully more to show for April. I must really sit down to do some finishings, my box is overflowing!

Happy Stitching till the next update!

Hugs,
Ellen

BAP Challenge, Exchanges and Some Finishes

I have been stitching diligently on LK's 6 Fat Men, my BAP Challenge project. These snowmen are so adorable! Snow Fun is almost done, I am eager to start on "Let It Snow". The pictures do not reflect the true color of the fabric, it is brighter(Wichelt Amber Linen).

Closeup view of Snow Fun!

I won another giveaway, lucky me! Barb hosted a giveaway to celebrate her 2nd Blogoversary. Here are the charts and kit I won.

Thank you, Barb for these lovely designs. I can't wait to start on them, especially the Christmas designs by Waxing Moon and the Biscornu. Have to get myself some of that lovely red fabric first, ha ha!

On the HoE Exchange, I received a gorgeous Santa Ornament from Suzanne. She stitched for me a PS Old World Santa. Her stitching and finishing are perfect. Thank you, Suzanne, for a great exchange!

For this Exchange, my partner is Marie P. I stitched for her an old Santa by Mary Garry's Sewing Cabin. I am so glad that she loves the ornament.

I love smalls and have some finishes to show. The first two designs are by Shepherd's Bush - Be Happy and Glad Tidings. They are gifted to my by Cindy and Sally. I only stitched one side of the designs and the fabrics showed are the backings for these scissors fobs.

Both designs stitched on 32ct Belfast Antique White linen using only DMC threads.

Here is one scissors fob, the other will have to wait. The cording is not done yet, ha ha!

These next two smalls are the bonus charts by LK, included in the Inspiration Boxers B34 and B35.

This one is gifted to me by Julie and is to be finished into a Pin Pillow. The "O" in Love is a heart charm! The other one is a scissors fob, the birdies are so cute! Both designs are stitched on 32ct Belfast Light Mocha linen using DMC threads.

One final finish to show, this is actual a wooden napkin ring turned into a pincushion. The motif is by DMC and stitched using DMC thread #115. This pincushion is very tiny, barely 1.5 inches in diameter. I am looking for more tiny designs to stitch for these pincushions. They come in the shapes of rabbit, rooster, elephant and duck.

I am currently working hard on my HAL. We are already on part 3 of the HAL and I am still struggling with Part 2. Hope to catch up ASAP???

Happy Stitching till the next update!

Hugs,
Ellen
