Oldies

I have some oldies to show, found them while clearing the cupboard. These alphabets were stitched on Aida years ago from a Kit I bought - The Rose Alphabets by Donna Vermillion. I just love these alphabets but not sure what to do with them ha ha! What was my plan years ago ???

These days I stitch exclusively on linens and evenweaves, all Aida cloths were given away to friends.


An update on Sara's  SAL Sorpresa 3. We were given 2 parts to stitch during the summer holidays, here are my progress... I really love this SAL, love how the scenery unfolds itself!

A Village Church and look at those two deer...adorable!

I am still stitching on these 2 parts, lots of evergreens to fill in ha ha!


Some small finishes to show - biscornu, scissors fobs and coaster.. This biscornu is a freebie from Casaerba. I love the needlelace in the centre!

Look at the back, isn't it lovely too? I stitched the biscornu on 28ct cream linen, so it is big ha ha! Casaerba stitched her pink biscornu on 38ct Italian linen. Thank you  for this beautiful design!

These cube scissors fobs are so cute and tiny. They are fast to stitch too! The design is a freebie by Palko, thank you. The purple fob is a gift for my friend!

A closer look at the cube fob! It's stitched on 32ct linen using Nina's thread! That red/purple one was also stitched using Nina's threads. Her threads are gorgeous and lovely to stitch with, thank you Nina!

One of my earlier smalls finished as a coaster, love it!

My two DD went for a backpack trip to Japan recently. They brought back these beautiful gifts for me, love them!

I really love this pair of scissors, thank you Hui and Qi!

They also came back with lot of sweets and chocolates for the family, friends and colleagues!

HAL Baby

HAL Baby hosted by Mamen has just completed. I am working on the final stage of blanket stitches and lots of eyelets! Here are some pictures of Part 5.

Strawberries for summer! My craft group meets every Tuesday and we have been making lots of strawberries ha ha!  Another project - pincushion cum scissors holder!

Finally, an update on Dorothy! I am working on the bargello band, very enjoyable to stitch!

Owls and .....

As promised in my last post, here is the family of owls. They are knitted by me and my daughter using

various yarns and threads and different needles sizes. I taught my daughter how to knit and she is now happily knitting more owls here. More will be joining the family ha ha!

I took up Judy's Message In a Bottle Challenge. She had a piece of semi finished hardanger work. She throws the challenge into the Internet Ocean, challenging anyone who is willing to finish the design for the centre of the hardanger piece. I filled the centre with Lacy Daisy and picots. You can visit her blog to see her gorgeous whitework embroidery.

Next on to updates on my SALs. I had finished Part 3 of Mamen's HAL Baby, love how the design is progressing!

Now, I am working on Part 4 which involves cutting and fillers, will show picture soon!

My progress on Sara's SAL Sorpresa 3, still working on Part 3. There are lots of trees to be stitched ha ha!

Another house was completed! It is actually a Cafe where you can get a cup of Hot Chocolate to warm you up in this winter season.

BTW, that big red rose is made by my DD. For Mother's Day ha ha! Another picture of the rose, one of my favorite flowers!

Last but not least, an update on Dorothy! I had finished the band of eyelets, hurray!

A May Post

The over 1 verse is progressing very slowly, one word at a time! But I am getting there...soon...

Part two of Sara's SAL Sorpresa 3 arrived and here is my progress. I just finished stitching two trees, a St Bernard and some of the borders. Will be building another house soon!

I am also working on another project by Sara - Summer. More works on Summer since my last post!

Another HAL for me! Yes , I join Mamen's HAL Baby. We are currently at part two of this project.

Stitched on 32ct unknown fabric from my stash using DMC perle 482. I using a dash of light yellow for the cable stitches. Sorry, can't see the color clearly in the picture.

More scissors fobs, small projects that I love in between my big ones ha ah!

The pulled thread fob is actually part of the designs offered by Kathrin in 2012 for a 15 sided biscornu SAL. She had another SAL in 2011, please visit her blog to see her beautiful designs!

Another small scissors case found on Violet's blog! This is the project for her Learning Hardanger SAL, I love it! Will be making more for friends ha ha!

Currently, I am knitting owls for keychains/scissors fobs! My craft group meets every Tuesday and we are crazy about owls at the moment...patched owls, knitted owls...  I will show pictures in my next update.

A New SAL

I join Sara's SAL Sorpresa 3 which started on April 1. This is a winter theme project, a continuation of her seasonal theme SALs. The SAL consists of 12 monthly installments and will end early next year.
Here is my part 1 of the project. Beautiful isn't it? I am looking forward to part 2 coming on May 1.

 Abi's HAL - A Confetti of Hardanger has just ended. She will be starting another SAL with specialty stitches. The SAL is exclusively to her group members.

I have some struggles with the last part of the HAL, the curves of the buttonhole bars did not flow smoothly. After some frustrations, I decided to leave out these bars and just do the dove eyes. Here is my completed doily! Thank you Abi for a beautiful HAL!

I also  stitched some small designs from various cross stitch magazines. Now I must find time to do the finishing ha ha! Hopefully in my next post, I will have something to show!

I found Claudia's blog through Judy, she is doing a gorgeous Embroidery Alphabets SAL. The embroideries are so beautiful, I could not resist and started on my inital E. I have fun doing these embroidery stitches, some are new to me. Please visit her blog to see the other alphabets, the SAL is currently at letter I.

Claudia got me so enthusiastic in embroidery that I have started another project, an embroidery pincushion. Hope to show in my next update.
